WHERE: "Calle Olvera," better known as Olvera Street, is the oldest part of Los Angeles.
WHAT: This popular tourist attraction was originally established in the early 1800s, and has since evolved into a marketplace where one can purchase and enjoy quaint nicknacks, eateries of genuine Mexican cuisine and walking tours that showcase and elaborate the origin of the area throughout its evolution.

We will begin our journey with a 45-50 min walking tour, hosted by a local descent who will elaborate historic buildings and platforms built in the early 1800s and the changes that have occurred in the area throughout the years!

Second, we will visit "The Adobe House" - the oldest house built in Los Angeles  (1818). This home exhibition takes about 20 min to see. It showcases three large rooms that you can walk through which are set up to look like what the area would have looked like in the 1840s!

We will end our tour with delicious, authentic Mexican cuisine at
La Glondrina Cafe - b
est known as "Casa La Golondrina Cafe," which was the first Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles, originally La Mission, opening in the current site of LA’s City Hall in 1922.
Consuelo Castillo de Bonzo, an immigrant from Aguas Calientes, Mexico, was invited to relocate to Olivera Street in the Pelaconi House, built circa 1855-57.
The food is delicious and authentic, especially the enchiladas, salsa and margaritas!
