The secret is out: we've fallen in love with this elegant oasis in the center of town.

We're going to sip, explore, and sip some more on a design-focused tour of fashionable Melrose Place.

But first: coffee. Let's gather at quaint Alfred for a quick Hairbender, admiring the white subway tile, ebony trim, and reclaimed farmhouse floor.

Next we buzz over to a store with zero inventory. Nordstrom Local is a fascinating experiment, and may be the future of retail. Come see what's happening at this chic spot where you can get your suit tailored, your nails manicured, and consult your own personal stylist.

WaterWorks is Los Angeles’s premier bath and kitchen studio with a showroom full of design ideas. Come look at Philippe Starck faucets, plush thousand dollar towels, and a million-dollar shiny copper bathtub, perfect for filling with rare Serbian Donkey Milk.

We'll check out Crossroads Kitchen. Crossroads at the corner of Melrose and Sweetzer in Los Angeles. With upscale décor and lighting, they are the first plant-based restaurant in town to have a full bar with an inspired cocktail program. There are no obvious vegan cues and most guests don't even make the connection that the menus is plant-based - they just know that the restaurant is comfortable and the food is satisfying and delicious.
